With plans to create a Visitor Centre for Harris Tweed, Western
Isles Enterprise and Western Isles Council are recognising two
compatible opportunities: to provide an accessible tourism destination
on Harris; and to create a commercial and cultural focus for
the sustainable development of the Harris Tweed industry.
The project, which is currently awaiting funding, incorporates
a significant retail component, and an audiovisual exhibition
‘From Harris to Paris’. Visitors can also enjoy a hands-on
experience of weaving. |
